Going to Russia and your input is important!

Hey guys,

 

I just found out I got a scholarship through the State Department to study in Russia this summer. I am extremely excited! I am not sure what city yet, either Kazan, Ufa, or Vladimir(I feel like I am waiting to get my AFSC/Station assigned).

 

Whatever the case, I was wondering if any of you guys have tips/suggestions on what I should do with the little free time I'll have? I will be staying with a family while I am there so custom and curtsey suggestions are welcomed.

 

Also, anywhere I can rent a KA-50 and fly around? ;)

DO's & DONT's in Russia

 

Don't be afraid to decline vodka. You won't offend anyone. Just have a religious or health excuse ready. If you do drink with Russians, know that the bottle is usually drunk until it is empty.
