Hello everyone,

We are flying private campaign. Every mission for this campaign is created by Sowinek - our member. He made mission number 12 and we found strange behaviour:

When someone is hosting this mission there are no problems on server side but when client enters the server he has no sounds in cockpit.

Second problem is related to awacs. We can't get correct coordinates to targets.

 

Any suggestions? Is it a bug?

I just had a quick look at the mission.

I can tell for sure that you have WAY to many groups/units in that mission.

Best I ever had was a bit more than 900 units in one mission, without any problems.

You are over 1300.

This mission is not so heavy. There are a lot of static objects and I doubt that this number of units can cause sound problem. We have missions where are much more objects and everything works well.

 

Can anyone from dev team check this mission?

Just telling you what my experience is.

Try it: make a copy of the mission and delete like 500-600 units.

Everything will be fine then.

It's not only the number of units that you have to keep an eye on, also the nr of groups.

A static object is a group by his own.

No, it's the experience of everyone. It is well known that the limitation is about 600, 700, 800 ish units/objects. Once you exceed that, clients can't hear sounds anymore. This is an issue known to the dev team too- one of the times this problem was reported, one of the ED devs replied "how many units do you have in the mission?"

 

Another symptom of the problem is that you start getting excessively huge sizes of dcs.log, with literally millions of lines of errors about "sound source invalid".

I think its also the number of trigger events. I am trying to narrow things down a bit.
