I was thinking of recording some of this game for a school project but currently have no screen recorders, does anyone have any recommendations, I am willing to pay more for higher quality.

Also are there more cameras than just the f1, f2, f3, etc... ones? I would like to be able to get some shots using a free movement camera

For video capture a lot of people use Fraps.

F11 is a free moving camera with keys to move it where ever you wish. I don't have the key map handy.

EDIT: As for the angles in the video, you might PM kyletiernan since he is the one that made it.

Oh, so that entire flight I took didn't have any recorded replay....

Correct.

A track is not a recording. There is a big difference, especially insofar as resource-allocation is concerned.

I have been using FRAPS for a while now, but now I use DXTORY which has a bunch of cool features I like. Mainly I can have 2 sound streams of the ingame sound, then a seperate stream for my mic.

It also does not dumb down your FPS while recording like FRAPS does. You hit record on fraps and your FPS drops a bit below your recording set FPS, like 30, but you are seeing in maybe 28 or 25 as your play.

DXTORY will record at your set FPS, 30 in my case, but keep the game FPS as I have it normally without recording, with a slight drop. So recording at 30 FPS, but im seeing my usual 30-40 FPS as I play.

Not to mention FRAPS limits your files to 2 gb clips, while DXTORY will keep everything in one video file.

I would like to disable this feature to free resources.

Not sure you can at present - I'll attempt to find out.

In any event and as stated, the amount of resources utilized is miniscule. It is not recording your flight - it is merely remembering inputs/states etc etc. Do not confuse it with a utility like FRAPS. If you are really serious about freeing up resources I would recommend utilities like Game Booster and the like.
