doright Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 On the CDU's POS INFO page (Switch in POSITION position), there is an entry for 'G ALT' L9. The manual says this is the GPS altitude. Why does it read 0 on the takeoff runway? Shouldn't it display the GPS derived altitude above the WGS84 datum? In a round about way this is asking if their is a source of QNH altimeter setting in the cockpit. Since there are monkeys, not even trained ones, that are better at putting in the correct combination of search terms then this primate, I apologize in advanced if this topic has already been beating to death. If so mind sharing a few links? Thanks.

Kaiza Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Yep, you are absolutely correct. Appears that the GPS altitude is using its alignment altitude as the datum rather than WGS84. Looks like a bug to me.
