ShuRugal Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 well, i slapped together a 3-point IR hat and snagged a copy of Freetrack, there's only one, small, problem. If i try to use my gun while aiming with the helmet-mounted sight, either the simulator frame-rate goes to zero, or Freetrack's frame-rate does. This lasts from the moment i select cannons to the moment i put them away. any advice?
ShuRugal Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 on further experimentation, it appears that this problem only occurs when i have cannons selected by the macro on my SST software. I've set it up so that a "c" keystroke is sent on press of the primary trigger, and another is sent on release, with the cannon itself on the second trigger. If i use the c key on the keyboard instead, this problem does not occur.
flanker0ne Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I think is the Shkval turned On. Try to lower the setting just for the Shkval, try 512 in "Res. of Cockpit Display" One thing is certain you don't need those "Every Frame" settings. maxmax Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I tried every frame in a10. I don't know if I'm imagining, but it does feel a lot more sharp and smooth. More like the real vids.
flanker0ne Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Every frame setting is more demanding in resources. But after reading the second Post I'm happy you have "half" solved your problem. Just for confirm, control in the Win Task Manager how CPU work demand the process SST.exe when you push the Macro. pixelpilot Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 i would imagine this is a 'stuck key' error the first stage trigger switch is held down for the whole duration that you are holding the second stage down are you sure the macro is only sending one 'c' during the time you are holding the the trigger? Actually i just checked out my profile and tried to set it up as you said, contrary to what i thought, it is indeed possible. Which suggests to me that you do know what you're doing. might still be worth checking its not sending repeated keystrokes just to rule it out.
