Does anyone have a TARGET file or script for different axis curves on different layers for the Warthog HOTAS please?

Look in my sig...

I use the LEDs to indicate the current curve. It's not on different layers at the moment but cycled using the pinky paddle + S1, but you could easily change that.

PhoenixBvo,

I've started to learn how to use the TARGET script editor and was messing around with your script file and I've noticed a strange thing happening, when I load and run your script then the device analyser and choose Thrustmaster combined the joystick X and Y axis act strangely.

If I just use your 1st joystick setting not using pinky + S1 to move up through the other 5 settings this is what happens, as I move the joystick Y axis up the X axis moves about 4th of the way left, and if I move the joystick Y axis down the X axis moves about 4th of the way right.

And if i move the joystick X axis right the Y axis moves about 4th of the way up, and if i move the joystick X axis left the Y axis moves about 4th of the way down, it also happens on the other joystick settings, pinky + S1 but less so as you move through the settings.

If I stop your script running and then run the device analyser and select joystick-HOTAS Warthog its fine no movement on the other axis only the one I move.

Whats happening, and do you know of this?

LOL, yes that's correct. It's a feature, not a bug

line 102:

RotateDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, DX_Y_AXIS, -15); //simulate a -15 deg twisted centred stick for the A-10.

That's exactly what you're describing. You can comment it out by writing // in front of the line and the stick rotation will be zero, i.e. no X movement, when you move Y and vice versa.

Note that, with line 102 active, if you move the stick up at a 15° angle to the right, there will be pure Y-axis movement.

I have detached the baseplate from the stick and bolted it to my chair like the real A-10 controller. To avoid having to twist your hand AND still let the stick axes coincide with the aircraft (= chair+desk) orientation, Thrustmaster has kindly provided the function RotateDXAxis(axis1,axis2,angle).

Just play around with the possibilities and read the TARGET manual, it provides for very powerful scripting. I barely scratched the surface with that script.

Britt007 (and anyone else who might be interested),

Have a look at the attached version, I created a macro file, added more comments to the code and generally cleaned it up. It should be much more readable now. I also updated the Thrustmaster Combined.lua to fix a minor issue with the speedbrake and added my keyboard.lua as well, because it seemed not to correspond to the default anymore.

Happy flying! :joystick:

A nifty feature I advise everyone to use is to add 'modifier' keys to their profiles in DCS: A-10. I have the Warthog's paddle switch as a modifier, and I've bound the entire keyboard to the CDU so I can type whatever I want :)

PhoenixBvo,

Thanks for the update, I've got my head around the TARGET script now and it's fun messing around with it.

Frostiken,

I was using modifiers within DCS A-10 but I want two joystick curves and because I cant see away within DCS A-10 to do it I've gone the TARGET route.
