LcSummers Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Hi ED Team, as discribed above, changing my GC needs a deactivation? Thanks LC
PeterP Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 quick-start manual page 2: Each game license (disk) has 10 activations and 10 deactivations. You can activate your game up to 10 times. The number of installations is unlimited! This game also allows Activations Automatically (“AAA”) technology that enables you to create a new activation once every 31 days. This ensures that you can still play the game, even if Eagle Dynamics no longer exists someday. This function is enabled after all 10 default activations have been used. If the copy protection system detects changes to your computer hardware/software as described below, an activation will be required. It's important to note that deactivations are utilized to save your activations when altering your PC hardware/software. Before conducting a PC upgrade/OS re-install, you can deactivate the product and when complete, reactivate without a loss of activations. Again though, you can install the game as much as you wish. http://www.star-force.com/support/users/deactivate/ An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6
LcSummers Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) Danke PP, in meinem also Fall JA! Aber wieviele points ist eine Grafikkarte wert? Wenn ich deaktiviere, dann natürlich nur automatisch. Gruß LC PS: Dein Guybrush ist cool quick-start manual page 2: An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6 Edited April 2, 2012 by LcSummers

PeterP Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) ... ironic... I'm sure you wouldn't have thanked Iceman if EtherealN would not have edited his post to match the forum rule 1.2.... On a somewhat related note: Please try to post in English on the English forum - some folks can get really pissy if they can't understand you :) - And you sure don't want that these people will get a stroke or heart-attack. -Whatever- I have contacted the Starforce-support, asking how many points are added by a GPU change. Will post when I got an answer. Edited April 3, 2012 by PeterP
PeterP Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) Starforce Support: Hello Peter, Our protection system does not binding to the video card. Therefore, if you plan to change only the video card, it is not necessary to deactivate your application. But if you plan to change the items from the list (CPU ID, Windows PID, Computer Name, Hard drive volume serial number, MAC address, RAM amount) it is better to deactivate this application. Thank you for contacting our support group! --Here is a updated list that should wipe away all confusion, because this includes the GPU. An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 GPU : 0 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6 Edited April 3, 2012 by PeterP 1
