cameleon33 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Hi all, Here is my problem. This evening, I wanted to train on mavericks with a friend. I never had problem with mavericks before but all of a sudden, the action "slave all to SPI" (China hat aft), seems to erase SPI and point TGP to steerpoint while the china hat fwd seems to do nothing instead of pointing TGP to steerpoint. I used the china hat aft and forward a lot of time before and had no problem. I think I may have activated something in the avionics but I can't figure out what it is. Any idea? Or maybe it's a bug? Thanks in advance, BR. Cam' [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Are you China hat aft and fwd Long? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

snak Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 have you checked that the keyboard/joystick setting havent changed in option
nomdeplume Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 the action "slave all to SPI" (China hat aft), seems to erase SPI and point TGP to steerpoint China Hat Aft Long is "slave TGP to STPT". What you describe sounds like the correct function of this control, although it shouldn't "erase" your SPI; but I'm not sure what you mean by that. It might reset your SPI to the STPT if the TGP is currently your SPI, but I'm not sure. Details, details... while the china hat fwd seems to do nothing instead of pointing TGP to steerpoint.China Hat Fwd Long is "slave all sensors to current SPI". If your TGP is the current SPI it won't have any effect on the TGP, naturally. It will also only slave/slew the Maverick seeker if the Maverick seeker is currently displayed on one of your MFCDs. If it's not being displayed, then the seeker will be in standby mode and not available for manipulation.
cameleon33 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 have you checked that the keyboard/joystick setting havent changed in option It changed during a single mission... It was working at first and then not working anymore. @nomdeplume: It is the way I understand it. But this time it was not working properly... Anyway, I need a track to describe the problem clearly. Let's hope the problem will come back :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cameleon33 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) Ok I got the same problem again. Here is the track of the multiplayer session of tonight. Don't know if you can use it... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8435797/client-20120405-214954.trk My nickname is Cam'. I first shoot a Shilka without any problem and then, I got the same problem than before. I set my SPI using the TGP, go to the MAV, and then try to slave it to SPI. The SPI is then reset and TGP lost focus... I did the same manipulation than before. I may have activated something else but I can't tell what. Thank you for your help. Cheers, Cam' Edited April 5, 2012 by cameleon33 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
159th_Viper Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Just saw that it's a pretty hefty track file. Any idea when during the flight this happened? I have a habit of nodding off every so often and I don't want to sit through 60 min of flight and miss the issue during a doze :D Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? cameleon33 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Yeah sorry. I don't know how to specify exactly when it happens (the track miss a timeline :)). After takeoff, we went to the north and starting to do circles around the bullseye. Soon, I start a first attack on a shilka... everything is fine there. Then I go back to the bullseye. This is the time when I try to prepare a second attack and I have a problem. If the track is too long, I'll try to do a quick test another time to isolate the issue. Thanks Cam' [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Panzertard Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 LCTRL+Pause twice when you start recording. That way you'll have a counter up in the left corner giving you the time. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

cameleon33 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Ok I notice I can see the mission time. So I did my first kill at 12:29:45 Then you can go to 12:39 when I try to lock a tank. I set my SPI then I do a turn to go towards the tank. I select the mav, do the Slave all to SPI at 12:40 and it has no effect. My SPI has been reset on waypoint and TGP lost focus on tank. We can see the china hat aft long done on the throttle. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cameleon33 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) Nevermind. I found the problem. As usual it is located between keyboard and chair... :joystick: In my second try, I mixed up "aft" and "forward" command... so instead of "Slave all to SPI", I did everytime (except on first try) a "TGP to STP"... So the TGP went back on the waypoint. Is it normal though that the SPI is reset to the waypoint? Thanks for your help. I am feeling stupid right now :music_whistling: Cam' Edited April 5, 2012 by cameleon33 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
