I'm probably missing something really simple but in trying to build my first 2 player mission I wanted to put both players in the same flight and element so that we're each others' wingman.

 

However, while I can set Pig 1-1 to be "Player" or "Client", I only seem to be able to set Pig 1-2 to be AI, there's no "Client" listed.

Is there a way to do it that I'm missing? Or do we have to be entirely different flights - which doesn't feel all that cooperative to me!

Correct - just set your SADL system as required as part of your start-up.

As a human player, it is totally irrelevant. You are in whatever 'flight' you want to be in.

 

If you want to fly as a 2 ship, fly as a 2 ship. You just set your SADL IDs, radio frequencies etc as required. The 'Flights' as set in the ME are only applicable to the AI.

ATC, JTAC and Tanker are AI last time I checked. ;) Although, to be fair as none of them have the ability to handle multi ship flights (even 1 player + AI) in any sort of realistic manner it's still not relevant.

 

Some trigger functions would be made a bit easier I suppose, so I'll give you that.
