Do I need to download the 4 patches I have seen mentioned on this site?

I am having problems with the program, it freezes after trying to access any mission, or other screen

I see a 11.0 ver on the startup screen

Your expert help would be appreciated

What you want to download is the full version 1.1.1.1. Your key will work and you will avoid problems with patching it.

As for problems with running it, what is your hardware and OS?

Download all four files into one folder and run the exe. Remove the old stuff first of course.

Your rig should have no problems so don't worry about issues until you get the latest version installed.

Just the normal Windows uninstall process. I didn't mean anything special, although I would probably also delete this folder too.

C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog

Some of the control config files may have changed and this way a new set will get created from the new install.

Before you delete the old you might want to grab the manuals out of the doc directory. They have been updated but it will give you plenty to do while you download.

Post any questions. It is a good group here and widespread enough timezone wise that someone who knows things (more than I) is almost always around.;)

Oh no. There is a Flight Manual and GUI manual. The Flight Manual is a 670 page pdf.

The are in the Doc directory under the main install. If you took the defaults that should be in C:\Program Files\DCS A-10C\Doc.

Can that 670 page be purchased as a book? or would I have to print it, sorry to ask so many questions but I do like to read manuals for new software.

Currently there is no hardcopy offered as a product from Eagle Dynamics. There are some services out there that allow you to give them a PDF and they'll give you a hardcopy book of it, though most such services I've seen have been in the USA and Germany, not sure which company would be your best bet in Australia. Tends to be more expensive than a normal book (since they only print a single copy, there's no advantages of scale), but not massively so. You can also usually choose between different binding options, color/bw etcetera to govern your price.

Personally, I prefer a tablet computer for the manual since that allows search operations in the text (like an iPad or similar Android device - I personally use an ASUS TF101 Transformer as well as a Samsung N7000 Galaxy Note).

This may seem a stupid question but here goes, once I have all 4 files in one folder on my desktop and I have deleted the original A-10C would I need to reinstall from the disk I purchased or just go to the folder I created with the 4 files in it and exe the .exe file ?

Just run the exe you downloaded. The disk is now a keepsake (or a coaster).;)
