In trying to employ weapons to attack targets I've re-mapped my thrustmaster

joystick a dozen times but haven't had any success yet in deploying the Maverick/smart weapons.

Can someone using the joystick (T16000M) that's had success in programmig

the default key's to deploy weapons could you pass on your settings to me, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

I used the six buttons on the base, on the lefty hand side, each as a modifier. Then you use the modifier plus the hat switch for BOAT,CHINA HAT, COOLIE,DMS, TMS, PINKY.

I had master mode on the left thumb switch. Can't check the exact settings because my stick is U/S at the moment. However I never had a problem because I was using that stick, always because I didn't know the exact sequence to loose a maverick. Takes some practice.

Just keep in mind that there are seperate keypresses for Firing the Cannon and Weapons Release for the A10 - The trigger will not deploy Mavs/Drop bombs.

Ok, when you are assigning functions to your stick in Options>controls, you can give each button a function, however you can do more if you assign a modifier as well. Hard to explain,, but for example I set one of the buttons on the base as a modifier. You can add modifiers in the options>controls screen, it's at the bottom left,,then I assign for example HOTAS DMS Forward function to be that modifier plus forward push on hat switch.

What it means is if I am using the DMS, then I hold the modifier button, which is one of the ones on the base, whilst manipulating the hat switch on the stick. If I then want to use the TMS, I hold whichever switch on the base I set as the modifier for TMS and carry on using the hat switch.

It's kind of hard to explain, but actually probably very simple, you need to spend a fair amount of time in the options >controls screen decidiing which buttons on the base of the stick you need to use as modifiers. Some of them, like CMS, I never got onto the stick and used a modifier i.e left shift with the arrow keys on the keyboard.

I'm not exactly a computer whizz myself, if someone that is comes along then there is probably a way I can give you my setup. But it's probably best you learn how to set it up yourself because it's not that hard and what seems logical to me probably won't to someone else!
