blade782 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Hi, guys just bought BS 2, but having a problem when i am cruising my collective stick moves by it self up and down, this has causing me to crash at low altitudes alot of times, not sure what is going on. Im thinking maybe my saitek 52pro throttle is going bad, i checked all axis assignments no conflicts anyone else having this issue, i made a quick track of it happening, just look at my collective as im flying, i am not manipulating it. thxcollective moving byitself.trk
ShuRugal Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 are you using altitude hold? this will move the collective to maintain altitude when route mode is on.
blade782 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 im sorry im new to BS, i do check the 3 blue buttongs on the right where the flight director is on, if thats what you mean
ShuRugal Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Read The Flight Manual. specifically, the portion pertaining to the autopilot functions.
sungsam Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Go to Saitek controller settings and see if Throttle axis tremples there. It happens to me also with another axis periodically. I don't know why but if I plug it on another usb port and / or reinstall drivers problem disapears. DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! DCS AH64D Longbow !
Bucic Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 From the most probable cause to less probable ones: 1. Assignment conflict. Please re-check. 2. Damaged cables. Common in X-52 series. 3. Damaged potentiometer or electronics. AFAIK there is no actuator that would move collective without pilot input. #2 and #3 - you can check it in the joystick control panel. Also in one of my forum posts I included instructions for resetting calibration data. Kite Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 happened to me also sometimes. Don't know how to help because it happens 5 times in a year... i exit the game and re-enter and everything works. some strange conflict i immagine. No problem with saitek because no problems in other sim .
PeterP Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Most obvious reason (as Bucic already mentioned) The Cable between Stick/Throttle comes a little loose and/or dirty pins. I had a X52 - I fixed this by hot-glueing the PS2 cable on the device. Restoring a calibration is described here (Clear calibration utility): corrupt calibration? crazy joystick response? sungsam Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) For me it works by changing usb port. If I change usb port it ask for reinstalling drivers sometimes (ports that never plugged the stick before). That also means that a recalibration happens by changing usb indepentably of driver installation request. In my case I use USB hub, so conflict could also apply. Dirt plays its role, but not in my case since everything works ok after actions above. There are also cases of internal cabling wear out. I just mention all these for a wider view of problem reasoning. Edited April 24, 2012 by sungsam DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! DCS AH64D Longbow !
