Hey guys,

I'm kinda new to the whole activations thing...

After seeing my system struggle to run the Beta, I've been out ad purchased a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, 8GBs of RAM and a new Hard drive (Just for ease of install and more storage space).

Is there a way I can disable my current activation so that I retain all my 10 activations?

I will be installing Windows 7 this weekend and will reinstall DCS after. It's no big issue if I can't, but Ideally I would like to keep all 10 Just in case...

Yes - 1 min I'll get the info.........

See pg12 of this guide http://http3.files.eagle.ru/dcs/manuals/DCS-A-10C_Install_Guide_EN.pdf

EDIT:- NO, that doesn't apply - looks like a bug in the BEtA - I'll report it.

BTW if you ever run out of activations ED will give you a new key if you enter a support ticket.

EDIT:- I've found a way - 1 min

Have a read of the deactivation process in that guide anyway - it doesn't all apply but understand it anyway.

Now the only way to access the deactivation process is to start DCS and go flying. When the Main GUI closes, hold down Right CTRL until a dialog box comes up showing the P-51 serial. There will be, in blue writing, a line saying Deactivation - click this and then save the code it gives you.

Reactivate with this code in your new windows install.

Is this something that applies to beta programs (I did not do the A-10 beta)? I am just looking for clarification so that this statement does not come back to ED with someone wanting a new key for BS2, for example, because they ran out of activations.

In general if you run out of activations for any product - open a support ticket with your original transaction info - and usually you'll be provided with a new key.

What happened to the process where if your number of activations reaches zero you have to wait a month and you will get one new activation.

I beleive that is in an FAQ somewhere around here.

Ahh yes it has changed, I forgot. What I said applies to FC2 - BS1 etc - everything else newer has the Automatic reactivation.

That is why I asked. For purposes of completeness (for anyone reading this later) here is the quote from the FAQ though the number is 10 now I think the rest is still correct. Though the mention of limitation of activations per month seems odd since the activation limit has nothing to do with how long it took you to use all 8 (or 10).

Q: Does DCS: A-10C use copy protection?

A: Yes, it uses the new user-friendly ProActive AAA Technology.

You will no longer have a fixed number of activations, but in an effort to prevent piracy the system does limit the number of activations per month. Your DCS A-10C serial number is initially set to 8 activations and when they all are spent, 1 activation is added automatically once, after 31 days.

Actually I've found the Correct protection exe

go to C:\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\P-51D\bin\x86_64 and click on p51_protect.exe

And then follow the steps in the guide.

I upgraded my PC but forgot to deactivate all of my DCS stuff. Using another activation is not a problem for me, but the problem is that when I try to activate P-51, the program crashes. I can't do anything on the activation/deactivation program. It worked for A-10, CA, and BS2 but for some reason the P-51 activation crashes every time. I have tried activating by running the game and having the prompt show up to reactivate and by running the protect.exe that you have above. Any ideas?
