Bahger Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Guys, I thought you want to take note of the following: - The narrator references safety covers on a pair of switches (sorry I forget the function) on the left cockpit panel that you have to activate and then safe at the beginning of the startup sequence. There are no safety covers. - After engine start, the given parameters for oil temp/pressure and many of the other engine health checks we are advised to do, seem out of kilter. In some cases the numbers given just don't seem to correspond with what they should be or what we see. Hope this is helpful.

There are no safety covers. There should be, take a careful look. Anyway, not a big issue. We only mentioned it, because the covers may be hard to spot against the trimmer wheel and can get in the way of using it. - After engine start, the given parameters for oil temp/pressure and many of the other engine health checks we are advised to do, seem out of kilter. Some of the systems involved are not yet finalized. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
cichlidfan Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 The covers are there, indeed, but they are a bit hard to see at some angles. The confusion may also be because the 'hot spot' to set each switch to 'Auto' is visible, and clickable, with the cover closed. When you click on it, the movement of the switch forces the cover open, at least that is what it looked like (actually quite cool from a detail perspective-good job). At least that is my perspective using TIR. cichlidfan Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 It's easier to see if you pause TIR and zoom in so the switches are about 2 inches tall on the screen.:D ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Spy Guy Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Yes, this is a WIP issue. Some of the systems involved are not yet finalized. That was an evening's worth of headache for nothing. :P Thanks for that info. Problems setting up switches on the HOTAS Warthog or similar? Tutorial Here
