ErichVon Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Go to this link's homepage and wait for the P-51 to cycle through. Click on the P-51. This link concerns the B-17: http://www.museumofflight.org/event/2012/may/19/boeing-b-17-ground-school I was there six years ago. They had a couple of sim-pits to get into, one even went upside down. It is a really cool museum. They added new stuff since I was there.
LcSummers Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Yes, Lt Col Glenn Eaglestons Aircraft. Hopefully someone will make it as a skin. Lets ses.
ErichVon Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Its a pitty its just sitting there :( That is how I feel about museum relics concerning metal machine shop. In 1980 to the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C , a 1920 era engine lathe on display was the same model I was using at work on-th-job still doing precision work with it. I'd get more of a kick seeing the shop where they rebuild these aircraft.
ErichVon Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Cockpit was also familiar :D That seat does not look comfortable. I guess the pilots did sit on their chutes. Imagine sitting in that seat for 12 or more hour sorties.
