tintifaxl, this is an Obutto oZone, it comes full featured for 600 EU incl. all options available for it. You might be confusing this with the larger r3volution model, which is well worth its money. I upgraded to a r3volution from an oZone and I didn't regret it. Didn't have the time to make a thread for it though, but I did some pictures of my r3v rig which even made frontpage news there.

Basically the r3volution is much larger, more flexible and configurable in almost every aspect. Given that costs about 50% more with all the upgrades compared to a fully upgraded oZone, I'd say we're definitely in a very reasonable price range. Simply compare it to all the other pre-made multi-purpose pits out there. :)

Yes, I meant the R3volution. I was under the impression both of you guys got one of these (look at your sig ;) ) . Did you swap the 3 screens for the 47" LG?

Oh, the signature... Well, that explains a lot! :D

Yes, I already got the 47" screen up and running, works like a charm! It is amazing how much weight the r3v screen holder will take, although I had to bolt it to the floor to keep it from tipping over. Perhaps I really should make a thread about that thing... :music_whistling:

Hi tintifaxl,

I finally did it and bought the R3volution, and this thing is worth every €!

The customer service was perfect, they kept me updated on how the shipping goes, technical support, and so on

It´s also perfect for work, FPS and of course racing.

Now, im waiting for the Obutto Warthog mount.

So we have two "Weana Batzi" with an Obutto setup and not one of them "raunzt" and all seem to be happy with their purchase.

Might be I'll get me one, too.

@mhe could you spare a picture of the current setup?

you speak Weanglarish very well!!

No rauntzing on my side about the obutto, maybe it needs a little bit of tweaking, but nothing you cant do without some bolts and some washers, or spring washers or more spring washers.

The owners of an obutto know what I mean :)

If you are a Weana Batzi as well, we could all get together for a beer and subsequent flight tests. :smilewink:

Just a shitty one, made with a cellphone when finalizing the build and while testing the rig I made for someone. Please forgive the mess ;)

Need to take pictures in full flight mode, that will take some time and some decent lighting, artificial lighting sucks.

Thank you for the pic. I'm a Zuagraster, so yes a get together would be feasable.

I've had my finger on the trigger for a sim pit for over a month now. I just can't decide whether it's worth it to save up for the r3volution or just go with the oZone. I feel the oZone would be more than enough for my 1 27" screen, and Warthog HOTAS setup, but when reading posts saying it's well worth the price for the r3volution, I question myself! ARGGG

This is actually a really simple thing. Since I've had both Obuttos, I can tell you the differences right away and you simply decide which path to take based on that info. ;)

1.) The r3volution weighs twice as much as the oZone. Pieces touching the ground are rectangular instead of rounded, meaning that if you place the oZone on a mat or something like that to prevent if from scratching the floor, it will wobble sideways slightly, depending on thickness and softness of the mat.

2.) The flexibility concerning screen positioning is really far far superior on the r3volution as it comes with its separate monitor stand. On the oZone you can only adjust 2 steps of height on the screen but nothing else, distance is controlled by sliding the seat forward and back. On the r3v, you can basically move the screens in any direction and even rotate them. It will take huge screens like depicted above. It is a bit of a hassle to align triple screens with it, but once set it holds them steady.

3.) The r3v comes with upgrades like a cup holder and the much improved keyboard tray out of the box, on the oZone you will have to upgrade to have these features.

4.) The oZone acrylic table plate will deform over time, meaning it will begin to hang on the sides if you don't bolt it down (it doesn't even come with drilled holes for that to begin with) and you have to remove it and place it somewhere if you want to mount a touchscreen for flying like I did, which increases setup quite a bit.

If I had to take that decision again, I'd go with the r3v hands down. And I hope you will enjoy the Warthog center mount! (I'm the guy whose mod it is actually built on) :D

Welp, I ended up going with the Obutto oZone. This will be my first pit, and to be honest, I could be moving in less than a year. I figured the ligher weight, less pieces of the Obutto might be better for the near future. Also, I did get the Warthog mount based on your idea ;)

I'm also putting this on carpet, so hopefully the side to side movement will be minimized.

Thank you for all your pictures and ideas, it's nice to see what you can eventually make this into!

Awesome setup, thanks for sharing it with us. I see in your latest pic, that you have it on a platform of some type. Did you make that yourself?

Thanks!

Yes, I built that myself from wood and some metal parts.

You can find a thread about it here: http://obutto.com/index.php/forums/topic/platform-for-obutto-r3volution/

There you also find the links to the build gallery and the Sketchup drawings for the platform. Scroll down in that thread, the link to the CAD file in the first post is broken, I posted the fixed link further down the thread.

If you have any questions, ask away! :)
