It's odd. Then, I don't understand why AP-OFF button located on cyclic (on real Ka-50) and why 'not' on AutoPilot panel. I couldn't find an emergency situation to press it, as possible as fast.

 

... While typing theese, only one situation came into my mind, though. May be, using this button is the best move to escape with maneuvers and without autopilot limitations from the dangerous field...

 

Then second question pops up: If there is a situation (that I don't know yet) that I should use AP-OFF button, why do not I use FD-AP function instead of AP-OFF?

 

FD is not AP off. AP off means no damping also. That is all AP assistance is gone, good luck with that :)

Because in that serious case of emergency (the hydro failure) you don't want to force the pilot to take his hands of the cyclic/collective.

:) Thanks Nate. Actually, yes I know that FD is not AP-Off. I just wanted to say FD-AP could set the Ka-50 free to allow us to make some maneuvers.
