How many installations can I have with a only serial number?

Hi everybody,

my friend has problems with the forum and he can't open new threads, hence he ask to me if I can open a new thread for him:

 

Hi, i would like to know if i can use my P-51D serial number for the installation of the Simulator on 2 different computer.

During the week i have to use on other pc for the simulation so, before install it, i need to know if i can pass the initial check on both Pc without problem (i can't spend other 40 $ now..)

 

Obviously i will use it one at time, infact the 2 pc are in a different location and i m the only user...

Short answer: yes.

 

Quick start doc has the details.

 

The second computer will obviously use another activation, and running both machines at the same time (note: different from being activated at the same time) is prohibited. You have 8 activations. The FAQ also has more details.

Thanks for answer EtherealN , ... it's me the friend of Duke, and finally i can write on your forum ;).

 

So, i understand that i can do a maximum of 8 activation procedure with my serial (for example in case of a complete system format) and the game will work correctly...

Marte if you have to format your drive, you had better to deactivate your copy before run the formatting.

Were do you de-activate the software? And where does it say what constitutes an installation?

With all of the uninstall and re-installs I've done due to variouse program errors are those counted towards the install count?

Does this have to be done for each installation or is the activation kept in the registry and survive uninstall/re-install?

I've never had to do an activation that I actually saw something going on.

You only need to deactivate if you are changing hardware or reinstalling the OS. Something that would likely cause you to have to reactivate.

 

If you just uninstall and reinstall, without touching your registry keys, then you do not need to deactivate or reactivate since your key will be untouched.
