Kjay Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Whenever I move the throttle forward from the idle position, the engine sputters as if it's going to shutoff then comes to life again. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
blackbaron Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 going from 0 to full throttle? seems to happen when you gun it, raise the power slowly
Kjay Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 I'm not gunning it. Just full increasing throttle from idle. Long before full throttle it will sputter then continue to build power. Sometimes while landing I'll go to idle then add a little power. The engine will sputter then power increase will occur.
blackbaron Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 (edited) im sorry i should have been more clear.. going from idle to full throttle is what i meant, raise the throttle slow and steady and you shouldn't have that problem or at least i would THINK.. I could be completely wrong.. I haven't tested it myself.. makes sense that it would sputter no matter what throttle increase is used, i mean 0 throttle = minimal fuel intake right? then the engine needs a second or two to get used to the flow of fuel again? I don't know, maybe someone more knowledgeable can help us out Edited May 14, 2012 by blackbaron
26-J39 Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 This will happen alot more in cold weather. Maybe check your mission temp settings. Considering engine & coolant temps etc are still WIP I don't think there is much use flying in cold weather yet.
flightace37 Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Work in Progress. The engine definitely has issues running in cold weather at the moment. I have a number of missions set fairly cold (8*C), and run into random sputtering from time to time. I think you can avoid the problem by keeping your missions above 15*C. - WH_Mouse
hitman Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Make sure you arent full lean either on the fuel mixture setting.
