Scorch Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I see a "start" in the mission builder, is that the time of day the flight will begin? I can't seem to set it to early morning. Seems like anything before 12 noon I guess, is red I'd like to set an early monring or early evening time to start, but I can't seem to figure out how. Thanks.
Jona33 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 In the briefing page there is the time. 1 Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Thanks. there are 2 time fields in the mission editor. the mission start time is the time in the briefing page when the mission will start. Yes it is the time of day (day/nacht) the start field on each unit is the time at which the unit will appear/disappear during the course of the mission, as well as the ETA to reach a specific waypoint or steerpoint under given speed and altitude parameters (air units), or speed (land/sea units). Let's take an example. You want to set time of day to 13:15. You set 2 aircrafts to be landing around 13:20. If you set your aircraft waypoint 0 as ramp start, at 13:18, in 2 mins, you'll see those aircrafts landing at your airfield (provided not too much wind or physics) 1 AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Also IIRC, the start time has no effect for multiplayer clients - they get created when people spawn into the slot. When you're setting the mission start time, you can set the HH:MM:SS, and also the day (final field). This is days since June 1st, IIRC. You can use this to get longer/shorter days and other effects related to the seasons.
Speed Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Also IIRC, the start time has no effect for multiplayer clients - they get created when people spawn into the slot. Not true, last I checked MP clients will be unable to get into an aircraft until that aircraft's start time has passed. Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up or slow down this start time for MP clients. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. nomdeplume Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Oh okay, thanks Speed, that's interesting to know. So close to being able to lock slots until some event has occurred... yet still so far!
Druid_ Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Oh okay, thanks Speed, that's interesting to know. So close to being able to lock slots until some event has occurred... yet still so far! Not at all. You can set MP slots to a future time/date and GROUP ACTIVATE them on a trigger (or at least you could last time I checked in an earlier patch). I did this in a BS1 mission many moons ago. So when you captured an enemy FARP. MP slots were then activated at that FARP. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
