outaluck1 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Does the Track IR come with a hat clip or does it need to be purchased separately? The reason I'm asking is because I don't use headphones when playing A-10 or DCS World P-51 Mustang. Another question I have is there a place/library where I can get the setups/profiles for Track IR? The reason I'm asking is because I've looked at tutorials on YouTube on how to set up the profiles but it seems quite complicated. Thanks for any input. -James
Daze Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 The hat clip will come with the TrackIR itself. I'm not sure if there's a library where you can get the profiles but the two most popular profiles around here usually are either wags profile or Fishs profile. I've attached download links for them both http://www.filedropper.com/wags http://www.filedropper.com/fish [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] First to Fight, First to Strike.
dburne Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Yes, like Daze mentioned the Track IR5 itself will come with a hat clip. The Pro Bundle will come with both the hat clip, and headphone tracking clip. I went ahead and got the bundle, even though I normally do not wear headphones and am currently using the hat clip, to have just in case I ever do. The Track IR software comes with some default profiles that are not too bad, and can be tweaked - fine tuned - to an individual user's preference. They are good starting points. I would suggest taking the time to read up on it, and play around with the software - it can be a little daunting, but offers great flexibility in customizing to one's tastes. outaluck1 Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks to you both, I went ahead & downloaded the profiles. I'll let you know how it goes for me once I get them installed probably tomorrow or this weekend and have some time to try them out.

outaluck1 Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 I have the software installed, and did so first before hooking up the Track IR as it said in the manual. Hooked the hat clip on, put on the hat, fired up the software and zilch. Nothing happens, no movement of the grid/head view (I do see the four ir lights though). So I decided maybe it only works in games. Fired up A-10, tried to look around, nothing. The right green light was on though. Any suggestions?
Daze Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Not sure... Try pluggin the trackir itself into a different USB port? Make sure under tracking target on the top left you have "TrackClip" selected (it will be highlighted orange) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] First to Fight, First to Strike.
outaluck1 Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 I tried everything you said, still didn't work. So I called Natural Point and it ends up that they did a remote session with me where the support coordinator had complete control of my PC (scary). Problem is that the sensor inside the Track IR camera only sees a certain quadrant of view. So the guy gave me an RMA number and they're going to replace it for me for free.

Yeah my internet provider did that with me before where he took full control of my PC, I was apprehensive to say the least. Hopefully the replacement works well [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] First to Fight, First to Strike.
