Euan3251 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Sorry but i cant find anything on this but does anybody know how to use as im guessing this is replacing "uncontrolled" which there was a trigger for start - but cant seem to figure this "late activation" any info please :)
Grimes Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Late activation replaces the need to set the start time of a group to a few hours after mission start. You would use the "Group Activate" trigger to spawn the group. Uncontrolled fills a similar but still different function in that it allows aircraft to be parked on the ramp before using the triggered action of "Start" to make the group take off. Its basically the same as "visible before start" The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. MadTommy Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I was looking at this and doing it all wrong yesterday.. So Grimes is it correct that you don't enter anything in the time category when 'late activation' is selected? PS it bloody brilliant to have yourself & speed as testers.. :) i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. StrongHarm Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Grimes, is there any advantage to using 'Late Activation' rather than 'Start Time'/2, or are they completely equal in function? I'm seeking optimization for a mission with a lot of units. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
Darkenmass Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Late activation needs a trigger , start time does not, so if you are sure that you want a group activated at any given time use start time, if it depends on a condition use late activation, triggers uses more cpu, so prefer the time over the trigger if it's not a condition start.
