How do you deactivate?

I understand that if I want to buy/build a new rig, that to play my purchased DCS titles on it I would need to deactivate the Starforce on the old, and then activate on the new using the license key I already have. This would deduct 1 from both deactivation and activation counts. How do you call the deactivate process? Thanks

Under the main Warthog folder is a 'bin' folder. Find Protect.exe in there and execute it.

 

They just posted complete steps for this in the FAQ and it is also in the Quick Start Guide in the Warthog Doc folder.

Tomorrow I'll move DCS World and all of it's modules to new, SSD drive. I've been searching through forums and find this post with deactivation steps. I wonder, should I first deactivate, then uninstall? Is this deactivation method still in use (it's almost one year old)? Is it enough to uninstall DCS World (there are no other DCS modules in "add remove programs")?

If you are not going to reinstall the OS, your activation should remain intact. Deactivation still works, and would need to be done for each module, if that is your intent.

 

If you are just removing and reinstalling onto a different drive then deactivating should not be necessary.

Yes, that's my intention. So, I only uninstall DCS World?

That was really easy. I've just uninstalled DCS World and than installed it on new drive. All settings are there.
