SackDestroyer Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I just went online last night for the first time but there seemed to be a lack of any populated servers. Does anyone know of servers or communities for flying the Shark online that would be newbie friendly? Thanks!
Panzertard Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) Ah, the always jolly & cheerful shadowze, .. stay cheerful bud. But he's right, if you're not on one of the latest versions you probably wont find many servers available. However, there's a lot of helpful people nearby the Squadrons, their servers and their voice com (such as TS or Ventrillo). It's highly recommended you get onto one of their servers, you'll get quality assistance and have some fun at the same time. =STP= perhaps? Many Europeans, but don't let that scare you, a friendly bunch of mature people. MP forums are here, have a look at the squad dir: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=93 EDIT: come to think of it, I'll move it down there now, you might get a few good responses there. Rusty_M Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Flight Sim Fanatics treat me well, and were my first online flying experiences. My first time was helping Carney check out missions he was designing. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
SackDestroyer Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 I'm running the full stand-alone BS2 game. I also have DCS World, though. Thanks for pointing out the multiplayer forum, I actually didn't even realize it was here.
Panzertard Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 The veterans know it's here and they will swing by. :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Pikey Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Are there any "middle of the road" communities to join? I'm playing World with A-10 and I'd like to drop in but not sure I have the time for the whole "checkride, voice comms" thing. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

You really need to install the TeamSpeak 3 client so you at least can communicate with voice and not in-game chat. Flight Sim Fanatics is also flying around. (HJ)
SackDestroyer Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Would you say that Bs2 or DCS World is more commonly used at this point?

Thanks for pointing out the multiplayer forum, I actually didn't even realize it was here. Grab the Open beta of KA-50 module for DCS: World. at the bottom of this page and install. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=12&end_pos=135&lang=en Shadow Demons server is usually running on week-ends and we usually have all flyables available in missions. Server is open unless testing out new missions.
