BigfootMSR Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) The arrow keys are not only bound under the axis menu though. Select all from the drop down menu and tap the arrow keys to make sure they are not bound to something. In DCS world: it says "Fly: left/right wing down, Fly: nose down/up". Other than that, I have no other idea :( Edited June 24, 2012 by BigfootMSR DCS: A10C Warthog JTAC coordinate entry training mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99424/ DCS: Blackshark 2 interactive training missions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612
VAF [136] Striker Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 The arrow keys are not only bound under the axis menu though. Done, I saw what you meant and deleted those binds but it didn't make any difference. Thanks for the suggestion though. PeterP Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Please try this as last resort before making a fresh install (things in bold): >>>TROUBLESHOOTING - Help us helping you. Common Controller or Input issues If you experience problems, there are some simple tests you can do to figure out where the problem is. To differenciate where the problem is and what to really fix, you can try all of the following methods; Rename or Remove the DCS CONFIG Input files (and keep them for later if they aren't broken). Remember to check the basics; Control Panel / Devices and Printers / Calibration. Unplug everything but your keyboard & mouse. Do not use special controller-software; Unload it. If you have a very special mouse or keyboard, perhaps you could borrow another device and try again. At any stage where you change the devices during troubleshoot; Rename the \Config\Input folder - this will reset inputs to DCS-defaults. Now there's a good chance you may see a difference - and you may be able to nail the cause.
VAF [136] Striker Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) This first picture shows my control setup for BS2. It recognizes my pedals but it HOTAS Warthog for the stick and throttle. This second picture shows my A10 setup which recognizes all my CH controls. Is it possible that this is causing some sort of conflict in the program? When I operate the buttons and axis' in BS2 control setup they all function normally. If it is the root of the problem, how do I get BS2 to show the correct controllers in the list? I obviously can't copy the LUA files from A10 into the BS2 folder as the functions are all different. Will what you stated in your previous message reset or initialize the controllers so they show up in the file list? I don't mind taking the time to write down all my control settings or printing out the list if this is a step towards a solution. Updated Notes: All of my control settings were stored in the "CH PRO PEDALS USB.lua" file even though they showed up under the control setup in separate columns. S77th-Kiwi Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Hi Have you thought of actually using the CH Manager? I have a profile for each of my sims and it works great. There are plenty of profiles out there you could use to start with, but it is actually easy to build your own. The manager allows you to calibrate properly as well. Cheers :)
VAF [136] Striker Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Please try this as last resort before making a fresh install I'm really starting to lose my patience over this issue. I've done everything you've asked me to do. I even deleted all the controller files and rebuilt them from scratch. I posted my problem to DCS support and they're basically ignoring me. I've paid a decent amount of money to purchase all the DCS stuff and this problem makes them unusable for the most part. I don't know what to do at this point other than just trash them and not bother with them any more. PeterP Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Another idea that comes to my mind is to start DCS windowed and having DxTweak open at the same time to see if this unintended movement is really caused by your controller . also open the control-indicator in DCS to double-check [RCtrl+Enter] - as you say : no other sim shows this behaviour. So we can rule-out if this problem happens only inside DCS or already at the DirectX level. Like this: Did you made this test ? What are the results - is this movement happening only inside DCS or shows DX-Tweak the same ? Edited July 1, 2012 by PeterP

There are plenty of profiles out there you could use to start with, but it is actually easy to build your own. The manager allows you to calibrate properly as well. Cheers Ditto. I use S77th-Konkussion's CH Control Manager Profile for the A-10C. I Google'd Search'ed info when I 1st came to DCS and he was top of the list. He was very helpful. This was my 1st LockOn/DCS aircraft and my 1st CH Control Manager attempt. For BS 1 & 2 I use the same CH Control Manager, using Crunch's Profile found to CH Hanger forums. For LockOn FC2 I use a different Crunch's CH profile for that also, that works for every aircraft. For the P-51D, I made my own. For the WWII sim Aces High, I made my own. All my controllers are CH gear and the keyboard: Fighterstick USB, Pro Pedals USB, Pro Throttle USB. There is friendly support to the DCS forums and CH Hanger. Believe me, if I can do it, anybody can! Granted, it was a huge learning curve, a lot of work and a lot of time. The problem using somebody else's profile is getting inside their head and figuring out what button does what and why. Crunch and Konkussion are way beyond me in setting up their profiles, programming from scratch. Do not use a powered hub. Plug your CH USB plugs into the back of the machine. There is a specific way of setting up the CH Control Manager with Windows that will definitely mess you up if not done properly. Download off the CH Products website the latest version of their Control Manager. Top of thread, Message Post #1, last paragraph, you said, ===================================== "I forgot to mention a couple other things. CH has software called "CH Control Manager" that allows you to create profiles that can combine all the separate controllers into one DirectX controller. I'm not using it as DCS recognizes separate controllers." I set up mine as 3 distinct, separate controllers. It is just knowing how. That dam, sob, Control Manager is easily two or three, 3 credit hour college courses. Konkussion taught me the basics! Man, don't give up! PM me, I have a mess of notes in my filing cabinet. I've had the CH HOTAS setup for about 7 years now and I've been using the CH control manager software for as long as I've had them. I use it for programs that have multiple controller limitations but for something like A10 and BS2 it's not necessary as it recognizes multiple controllers. I don't believe it would help anyhow as you're combining the button presses into one DX configuration file but the Axis' are all still separate analog devices. I appreciate your willingness to offer the suggestion though. Nvidia GTX-1080 Intel i7-4820K 3.7 Ghz ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme MB 32 GB Memory Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VAF [136] Striker Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Did you made this test ? What are the results - is this movement happening only inside DCS or shows DX-Tweak the same ? Hi PeterP. I had already done this before and confirmed that the movement is happening only inside the DCS Program. When the rudder and stick jam to the left, nothing happens in DX Tweak at all. I even went ahead and renamed the config>input folder and let DCS create a brand new one like you've suggested and DCS help suggested. I had to go ahead and remap all the inputs since everything was gone but it did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. Something is happening inside the program and not external in my controls. All this testing has confirmed what I've suspected all along. I don't know what else to do at this point.
