Leeham Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Was flying some sunset mission, with JTAC giving me targets. The problem was after WP was fired I had major trouble locating it with poor lighting. Had to Alt+F1 and zoom all the way in to even see it. I was orbiting at 20000ft though, is that too high for spotting visually? Evil.Bonsai Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (in orbit) < you weren't lying....Astronaut training?! The Hawg should NEVER be that high. But, you should be able to see it ok with TGP in w/h or b/h modes.
Wichid Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 That is high to tally smoke. Flying that high is totally normal otherwise though. Lyndiman AMD Ryzen 3600 / RTX 2070 Super / 32G Ram / Win10 / TrackIR 5 Pro / Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals

KLR Rico Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I usually fly 10-15K feet for orbiting, just out of reach of the most common nasties. i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Evil.Bonsai Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I've been reading the HOGS novels, and the pilots are always complaining when they have to be above 10Kft. "That's astronaut territory! What I'm talking about!" - Shotgun :-)
