Okay, where to begin;) Sorry if this game has been mentioned before but I would like to give my short review:)

I just bought the new WWII game that uses the ArmA 2 engine, and I have to say I am really impressed. It has extremely good graphics, rich sound, TrackIR support new animations and lots more. I play ArmA 2 frequently so I don't need to re-learn all the controls etc. One of the most impressive things is the tank damage system. It has a dynamic damage model for every tank meaning small or large sections or panels can be blown off. Sometimes, a shell may deflect off sloped armour, or it may hit the engine and disable the tank.

Flying is also fun, it feels more realistic than ArmA, but still a bit arcade-ish. The cockpits are very nice and also support TrackIR.

I would recommend this game to anyone who has even a slight interest in WWII. It has 2 historic campaigns for Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia. Both have authentic voice acting in their own languages with subtitles, or you can change it to English with Russian or German accents.

Overall, it is a very good game that still needs some polishing, but 2 patches are already out; thus improving the game massively. A third patch is due very soon.

My rating for this game: 8.6/10

This game has massive potential, and as a multi-player human only game it's very good, the flight model is as you say one step above ArmA, but it's still very basic.

My biggest issue with it is the AI sucks at anything but being infantry. Vehicles and aircraft pathfinding are appalling, so if you're planning to play the campaign, move along...

My rating 5/10 :(

Single player is as silly as it ever was in Arma II. The multiplayer game is fun (reminds me a lot of Battlefield 1942, especially in how the airplanes look and handle), but there aren't many people on usually. SimHQ has been holding server games every Saturday for several weeks now that usually draw 8-12 people.

The Steam summer sale is going on now, I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up at a discount. At a lowered price it might be worth it, but at the full 30 bucks I'd say pass.

Well I always try and find a plane in IF'44 multiplayer but there are never many:) Also the SimHQ server is passworded?

Anyway, the maps are huge and nicely detailed I think one is bigger than Chernarus from ArmA 2.
