iridian Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hello, If I have DCS world free with the Su-25T, can I fly in a multiplayer session where my friends have the A10-c ? Because I'm about to buy the A10 module on steam when it goes on 'sale' [60% atm, but I'm hoping it will drop further] In the meanwhile I'd like to know if I can fly in a multiplayer session with my friends who already bought it, while I haven't thanks in advance!
Cali Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 No, you have to have BS2, CA, P-51 or A-10C to fly with them. DCSW and the 25T are free for single player, not multiplayer. DCS A-10C is on sale on Steam now for $16.00 dollars, I don't think it's gonna drop more then that. I'm going to get it and use the serial number with the download so I don't have to mess with Steam. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

I own the CA module only and see a number of MP sessions on the MP list... but if I got it correctly, the master server only indicates servers supporting the modules you have installed, right? so I dont get A10C and BS2 only servers indicated, only the ones mixed with CA Compability? Revelation Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I own the CA module only and see a number of MP sessions on the MP list... but if I got it correctly, the master server only indicates servers supporting the modules you have installed, right? so I dont get A10C and BS2 only servers indicated, only the ones mixed with CA Compability? Not exactly... With DCSW 1.2 a server will support all modules. You will have to look at the notes to see if they have enabled CA slots. Cali Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 JABO2009, as far as I know....DCSW will show all servers and modules. However, you will only be able to play in the servers that have slots for the module you bought, just like Revelation said. So, a server might only have P-51's, 25T's and CA or A-10's and BS's, it's up to the server whats able to be used in it. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
JABO2009 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 thank you guys, got it. but dont you think there's still some "emptyness" on most of the servers with CA slots ? (I know CA has only recently been released and there are lots of people to join DCS) Im lookin for P vs P CA servers, that have lets say at least 20 to 25 human players on the same map ...but im hardly finding any...the impression I get is that there are hardly more than 13 people on the same CA server...most of them have 2 to 3 players online.. maybe im joining the master server at the wrong time, my experience is told from joining at around 20:00 pm to 23:00 pm Central European Time (CET) would be interesting to hear your experience on that...anyway Im loving the DCS MP atmosphere..and kepp lookin forward to EDs further developments... Cali Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Good luck in finding that many players on DCS servers. Hopefully soon we will have that many players in DCS servers. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
JABO2009 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) Good luck in finding that many players on DCS servers. Hopefully soon we will have that many players in DCS servers. but why??? ED introduced a unique "World" here, there are so many positive reactions about the still beta CA, where are those guys in MP? we already have some great modules out there with more to come... are 70% of these module users in SP only? maybe an ED announced DCS community event (or some of them) open to all DCS users in an kind of a huge "MP battle dealing with all the modules" would increase the interest in going online? Laud Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) 1. Someone has to create the large scale missions you request, and as open MP missions mostly suck, due to lack of briefing and teamwork, none does (or at least very rarely). 2. Our squadron is still facing problems with more then 12 client AC at one airfield. So 25v25 (like back with FC) seems somehow unrealistic atm. ... unfortunately... AND: I have no idea how someone can say that these pieces of software are too expensive!!!!! The A-10C alone is worth more than 100$ in my eyes, so waiting for prices to drop even further than they're now is... uhm... strange... Sorry, but felt the need to say this. Sorry, but felt the need to say this. 100% agreed... they are worth every cent... ED's pricing is more than fair.. but regarding point 2: didnt know that: Im hoping they will get rid of this in DCSW... I loved to have real busy MP missions on FC2 servers .... and now with CA a scenario with "true" 32 players or even more would be mind blowing... AND: YES, massive uncoordinated human acting on MP servers can suck, but there I would set up Teamspeak login as minimum requirement to join, so somebody can kick their ass , "if some noobs kill friendly tanks on testing their main gun, f. e...." on arma 2 servers, this method worked out perfectly in the past...
