4 monitor setup help!

Okay, I can't seem to host or join any MP sessions without DCS crashing. Once the mission loads, I usually get the "select aircraft" screen but all the text is garbled, like it's not being drawn properly. I click the area where "Briefing" and "Fly" would be, then the 4 screens go blank and my #1 and #3 monitor alternate between standby (no signal from PC) to on, then back to standby.

 

If I'm on TeamSpeak, I can still hear the guys, but CTRL+ALT+DEL does nothing, nor does ALT+F4, ALT+TAB, etc., I just get the black screen. I do a restart via the PC case's restart button.

 

Any ideas?

What hardware are you even using for your graphics? GPU/VRAM?

As I don't know if you have tried debugging without SoftTH....you must be really clearer on which conditions/setting this happens.

Means : Does this happen only when SoftTH is active?

 

 

Anyway - read the SoftTH read-me again .

It clearly says that Alt-Tab dose't work.

 

If you need to see the Team-speak overlay you need a monitor that is not utilised by softTH.

 

Again: When SoftTH is active - only DCS can be shown on your Primary monitor.

 

Further:

Please make yourself some notes what you have changed during trying getting it to run...and tell it us.

A computer isn't a "random generator".

There must be something you have made different between your attempts to get it working.

As I don't know if you have tried debugging without SoftTH....you must be really clearer on which conditions/setting this happens.

Means : Does this happen only when SoftTH is active?

I will assume "SoftTH active" is when I run more than 1920x1080 res, yes? If so, then yes, it crashes when I use more than 1 screen. If I revert to just 1920x1080 res (single monitor #3), there are no problems.

Yes, I was just saying that nothing seems to work aside from a restart using the restart button on the case.

Nope, I don't need to see the TS overlay. What I meant is that if I was running SoftTH and running multiple screens, the screens go blank and display the behavior I describes, but I can still hear the guys speaking on TS -- so the displays do not work but the PC has not totally crashed since TS is still apparently working. Obviously when using only a single-screen, then I see TS on monitor #2 all the time.

Exactly why I say it is very odd. I have not changed anything but now the buttons are working although some text like the "Internet" on the drop-down menu is still offset.

 

This is just like when I am flying SP with SoftTH on (all 4 monitors working), when I press ESC, sometimes the menu, the one with briefing, quit, cancel, sometimes the menu has the gray background, sometimes that background is transparent and all I have is the white text. What did I change between one and the other? Not a single thing. Am I using different missions? Nope, it can happen or not happen on one mission. This is what I mean very odd. There is something that is affecting it, but it is not something I can readily identify.

Please finally attach a DXDiag. - so we really know all your system specifications.

 

Please don't get me wrong , but it is getting more and more confusing -All I can say :

Please try to get your system running in DCS windowed mode -with Helios and team-speak up and running.

 

All info how to do it is already posted in this thread.

So you can solve one problem after another - and not all at once.

 

When this runs without crashes and as you wish:

Than you can use SoftTH.

 

This will make debugging much easier for us as it seems to me that there are more things not right - and this anomalies you experience can't be caused alone by SoftTH.

...mixing it all up doesn't help to isolate the culprit.
