Loadouts advice needed

After my post regarding the fuel and power of the Su25 I got an advice about the proper loadouts. But what are proper loadouts? I know to carry Vikhr If I need to attack tanks, and bombs for Strike Missions, but what for other missions, can someone help with the missions I like to fly more please?

 

- Several APC like Strykers or BTR in open formation (so no cluster bombs here). Protected by a ZSU/Shilka/Vulcan/Avenger/Manpad style AA enemy.

 

What should I take? Will the gunpods be useful against the APC's?? And what about the AAA/SAM? How should I kill it without risking the plane in a too close fight?

 

- The same as above but with IFV, should I take Vikhrs?

 

Are the Russian Cluster ammo really useful If the enemiy vehicles are not in column formation?

mate, you're supposed to go in when air defences are down. SEAD just needs revision in the entire campaign (or specific mission if that's what you're flying).

 

Now comes the BTR/IFV issue:

 

Whatever you properly aim with, and devastate with, will do the trick.

 

Finally, the cluster ammo works if you're high enough but limited only in its footprint. 100-200 meters is effective max IMHO. I could be wrong though. But the best advice is, try and see which altitude vs. spacing works best.

SEAD is not the problem, not for the big SAMS, but the small ones that came with the IFV/APC's. How you guys deal with them?

And also, is important, are the gun pods a good way to deal with those kind of enemies?

I'd say load her up to the max, but within the max take-off weight.

And experiment.

(you will have a hard time exceeding the MTOW though)

 

For relative short flights i take vikrs always whit me.

(unless its an dedicated DEAD flight to destroy longer range sams like Hawks)

For the long flights i make sure to leave out the vikrs because they have an

VERY bad influence on your range and speed.

 

As for the Air Defenses you mentioned, Vikr will do just fine.

 

Most BTR/IFV's can be taken out whit the gun, just remember that the same BTR/IFV can take you out whit his gun.

Could use rockets on em, or your vikrs.

 

S25L is also a powerful missile that will destroy just about anything, though its lacking a bit of range.

If you need range, take the KH25ML.

 

Also fun is the KAB500Kr TV guided bomb.

 

Really, experiment and see what works best for you, most important thing though;

 

NEVER EVER OVER FLY THE TARGET AREA

 

always break off well before overflying the target area, reduces the risk of being shot at significantly.
