andie Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 My p51 wingman does not take off and stays at ground level and going through everything in its way. After upgrading to 1.2.0 i was hoping this was just a bug but is still happening. I can't find any mention of this happening anywhere on the forum. Its happening in quick missions and from mission editor. Any suggestions please?

I misunderstood. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a this problem with a mission I created before the new upgrade, when trying to play it on the latest build I could not get any AI to move from the ramp, their engines would start and their navigation lights would come on, but they would just stay put for the full duration of the mission. I solved this problem by removing a FARP that was in close proximity to the runway. Maybe you have a structure that you have placed in the editor? Move the AI to a different airport and see if they move, this is how I found out what it was. Edited July 19, 2012 by Adi
andie Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the reply. This is happening in the create fast mission without using the mission editor. All i am changing is to add one wingman and to take off from the run way. The wingman will run along the surface with its flaps down. The information states in the pic that its flying ALT is at 1632 and and SPD is 126. The speed maybe right but certainly not the altitude. This problem seems specific to me so its probably something i have not installed properly. I have reinstalled twice tonight and the same happens. Pic shows wingman just after the end of the runway, it will keep going until it hits a building or dissapears into the ground ? Should also mention that this does not happen with the su25 Edited July 19, 2012 by andie
andie Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Heres a track of the wingman. Hope it helps..wingman.trk
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Thanks I'll take a look. EDIT:- Yes I see it too. Nate Edited July 19, 2012 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
ED Team Wags Posted July 19, 2012 ED Team Posted July 19, 2012 I once ran into this issue when a wingman was overloaded. Reduced weight to 90% and all was fine. Could be the same issue. Nate--IRL-- Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Yes that is the cause. EDIT:- No, there is something deeper at play here - reported anyhow. Nate Edited July 19, 2012 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
andie Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 I reduced the rocket load for the wingman to 6 and all is fine, seems strange however this has only happened to me.
Echonomix Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I can confirm this happening too. I was trying a fast mission with one wingman, both of us starting on the runway ready to go. The first odd thing was that my plane was running but it seemed like the AI wingman plane was not running, yet when i throttled up enough to get my plane moving, he went on to appear to take off (and the plane appeared to be running...maybe just a graphical bug?). Except he never leaves the ground. The AI wingman just drives right down the runway heading at around 125 speed (dunno if that is knots, mph, or). Usually his plane explodes when it hits a building, but last night it just kept going. It would follow hills, both up and down, like it was on a track (following runway heading). Maybe the path never took it through any buildings this time, but by the time i had landed about 15 minutes later, i F2'd to his plane and he was still just driving his plane across the land like a truck  I thought at first it might have been caused by weight, so i lowered fuel load to keep the weight to about 90% mtow. That didnt seem to matter though. Both planes were loaded with 10 rockets and max guns. Nate--IRL-- Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 It is the rockets causing this. I believe it has something to do with a Drag co-efficient being to high for the AI or something. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
