rocksoldier Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 i was wondering if removing 2 HDD (not the ones where the OS and games are installed) and plugging a new bigger one is considered a major hardware change. thx
159th_Viper Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 New hard-drive change is 3 points out of the allowed 12 before a new activation is triggered so you should be OK - no activation would be required. PeterP Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 More info: An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 GPU : 0 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6 >>> Changing hardware needs deaactivation?
sungsam Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) He clearly asks if it counts also for internal disks not related with to O/S. Is there any specific answer for this ? In other words do we know if Hardware Code changes if you change a disk not related to O/S ? I also ask couse I never had any problems by attaching external disks or Memoru sticks. But I had problems by creating virtual Disks or Network adapters for example. :) Any help will be appreciated. Edited July 19, 2012 by sungsam DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! DCS AH64D Longbow !
PeterP Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Removable disks don't count. I'm swapping removable disks at a daily basis. But: installing DCS on a removable disk is a no-go.
