Corrigan Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 So I just installed the BS2 1.2.0 module into World, and I'm quite sure my cockpit shadows now look uglier (lower res), in both the Ka-50 and in the Hog. I've verified that the shadow settings are still on high. Any ideas? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
BRooDJeRo Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Did you use the old settings folder or did you remove/backup the old settings and use new dcs wolrd generate settings?
PeterP Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 are you referring to this?: Strange windscreen shadows in 1.2.0 It will be fixed in the upcoming patch.
Corrigan Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 I'm not completely sure what you mean. I didn't change any settings at all. This was the progression of events: Been playing World with A-10 for months, with shadows on. Bought BS today, installed, and reacted to what I thought was an unusually low shadow res. Hopped into an A-10 and thought I saw the same thing. I then went into the options and checked that the shadows were still set to high. Is it possible that the BS installation somehow changed the resolution of the shadows on the high setting, or am I imagining things? EDIT: Peter, nope, I'm well acquainted with that bug, and that's not what I mean. :) Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5

Corrigan Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Ok, I get you now. I tried that, and it's the same (low res shadows). I'm thinking now maybe I'm mistaken -- Obviously the shadows look better or worse depending on the angle at which they're cast, and I might have been examining a particularly bad situation (the first A-10 instant action mission).
