I had a brief go at a mp mission called fob vetka but didn't have too much time and really want to have another go. I can't ask always get on the net so was wondering if it was possible to play it in sp.

It is but remember you'll be on your own while you should have at least 3/4 players for the numbers of enemies. It may be impossible.

How do you do it? Do you just drop the file in a sp folder? Is it possible to edit it so you can take a wingman?

 

You can edit the mission and change the skill for an aircraft from 'client' to 'player' and then add a wingman as an AI aircraft.

Dave - in the Mission Editor you can change your jet from client to player, and add a few A-10s to the player group, so at least you have some wingmen. Not sure how it'll play out with the AI-enemy-spotting and quick teamwork reactions needed vs. multiplayer, but would be nice to have the extra ordinance if you are out there flying it alone.

 

If you need some help in the ME to set that up, feel free to PM me and I can walk you through it - it's quite simple.

Looks like i'm doing something wrong. I have edited it so i am the player and added a wingman. When i fly over the first waypoint when the column comes under attack nothing happens and the convoy doesn't move. I flew back over it again and the mission crashed and took me to the debrief page. Any ideas?

No need to edit it - run the MP mission and it will give you a choice of which aircraft to use in SP.

I think he's looking for some AI wingmen help (ie: more ordinance) flying it SP.

Dave, are you flying it in DCS World or DCSW 1.1.1.1? I have not updated the mission for World so that could be part of the problem. I looked at the triggers for the convoy part you are describing and it should work fine with conversion of any of the client A-10s to a multi-ship player/AI flight.

At the bottom of the screen below the reply area is a 'Go Advanced' button.

Click that and it will bring up a new screen. In the row of buttons is a 'paperclip' button. That will bring up a window to attach files from your machine.

Dave, first off - since Vetka is HEAVY on custom sound files (radio calls), make sure you've seen this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666

 

I didn't have time to test your SP version out, but looked in the .miz and made a couple edits to clean up the triggers. File attached...

 

Be advised, with a 2-ship you will likely need to rearm back at Kutaisi before heading on to FOB Vetka for the second part of the mission. :smilewink:

Thanks Joyride that works perfectly now. What did you do to it? I had already applied the hotfix for radio calls so it wasn't that. The only problem i have now is i can edit your mission fine (add more wingmen) but when i come to save it it won't let me. Any ideas?

Dave - try this one (attached).

 

I added 3 AI wingmen. Just had to do a little clean up some triggers that had leftover (unused) arguments when the other flights (clients) were removed from the mission.

 

See if you can edit/save this version. Should work now.
