Hi guys i really need help,

and i can´t find a solution. This is making me really mad...

The videos are taken at mission Battle.miz in which is especially bad flickering.

If running wihout SoftTh in windowed mode, the flickering is gone.

What else can i try?

Try to disable Verticalsync. Maybe there is adaptiv Vsync acitvated in your Nvidia systemconfig!?

Thx for fast reply PeterP!

I tried your settings and flickering is gone but i have a performance loss now (about 5-7 FPS). Sounds not much but if having in some missions a max of 18 fps it DCS will be unplayable :(

What can i do to get my 5 fps back without damn flickering?

Seems you are on the right way...

so now make three tests where you switch one of these debug setting off

compatibleIB=1

compatibleTex=1

compatibleVB=1

to see what setting is responsible for the fix.

I can't tell you much more as I never had this bug - seems to be a incompatibility with the NVidia drivers and your card and softth.

When you manly use DCS = DX9c I highly recommend to stay on older drivers - as many of the new drivers are focusing on DX 10/11 and fixes/improvements for the newest blockbuster-games - and are not always 100% compatible with DX9 any-more.

Or Do you really think that the Guys at AMD/Nvidia are first try their newest driver with DX9c or SoftTH ?!

With your great help, it turns out that this one is the trouble maker:compatibleVB=1.

I played arround with SoftTH switches but unfortunately i didn´t really get out the former performance with compatibleVB=1 enabled:(

What exactly version of latest older Nvidia driver could you reccomend for me to try out (best possible performance/compatibility also with newer games)?

Please help me to understand your post and elaborate a little more:

1.

So you are using now this settings:

compatibleIB=0

compatibleTex=0

compatibleVB=1

enableVBQuirk=1

and the smoke-filckering is gone but you have lost performance - Is this right?

And you call now the setting that turns off the flickering "trouble maker" ?

What exactly version of latest older Nvidia driver could you reccomend for me to try out (best possible performance/compatibility also with newer games)?

No - I cant . I use a AMD GPU.

The only advise I can give you is to switch off all "optimizations" in your Nvidea GPU options and run DCS strictly application controlled.

It was a little bit unlucky written of me because i'm lying in bed with big flu so my mind is a bit weird. Sorry for that!

It is right that the flickering is gone with this settings. This settings are not the trouble maker of course!

Big thank you for finding out the bug/incompatibility with my driver/card!

I will play with drivers if i'm fit enough again and write here if it worked.
