deltalord Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Might just have to give it away for the time being and hope future versions correct whatever has happened. This did not happen in 1.1.2.1, and only started in 1.2.0. Older machine on amd/ati 12.3 drivers (5850) New machine on amd/ati 12.8 drivers (7970) Seems that some are also having this crash on nvidia also. Thanks for trying though with the suggestions , I'm just as stumped. No other problems with any other game or program.
Hoggorm Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 I can't replicate it - could you also post a DCS.log right after it happens again. Also please re-install the specific DirectX and Visual C from my sig (This is important) Nate I've not flown the A-10 for a couple of weeks. Today I started the next mission in the campaign and after a little over an hour into the flight, the sim crashes to desktop... Very frustrating... :( Please see attached logs as instructed: Logs.zip

I hope you don't give up so soon, I didn't see this post and love the challenge of a PC bug or error. from the posts there has to be a common denominator between the 2 PCs. sound card on MB I would suspect first. I would want a complete description of both PC included the Motherbaord Makes and models. wether they are using the same sound cards or not. and power supplys. To start. These are my specs: ASUS P9X79 Motherboard Intel Core i7-3820 Processor Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9 Samsung SSD 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Corsair HX 850W PSU HIS Radeon HD 7950 3GB Sony Optiarc DVD±RW Writer Intel Air Cooling ASUS PCE-N15 11n PCI-E Adapter Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB I get the sound from Bose Companion 5 USB speakers that should include its own "soundcard". I have the latest drivers to the motherboard, including audio though. I do not have the latest AMD/Catalyst driver. The current is 12.8, but I have 12.3 since AMD informed me that 12.3 is the best driver for my HIS Radeon HD 7950. DCS is installed on the SSD drive C: My Library folders (like Saved games) however are located at the Western Digital 2TB disk D: (If it should matter...) Question: When is the dcs.log created? Every time DCS CTD the sim is restarted almost immediately and goes to the "debriefing" page where I can see a log of what happened. Is the log file created after CTDs only? If the dcs.log is created every time the sim starts, the log file provided above might not be of the CTD, but of the restart just after...
