Jarc Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Hi all, First of all to introduce myself because this is my first post in this forum, at least since I remember because I'm playing with sims since a long time ago and specially with all the flanker serie. I'm also posting because I'm experiencing an extrange message. This week I have installed DCS World and reinstalled the games I previouslly had: BS and A10, in order to apear active through it. And for that after installing again both games I updated them with the 1.2.0 module. And for that I bouth the one for BS. The problem now is that every time I launch an instant mission (by the moment is the only thing I do just for testing before I have my hotas configured) I window apears asking me for the serail number for BS2. The problem is that when I bought the upgrade i dind't receive any serial number and the one i have for the BS seems not to be valid. In any case I choose exit and the games seems to work correctly but, I don't like to get that window every time I want to play. Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?. Thank you very much in advance and sorry for this long post and for my English. Regards, Jarc
JG14_Smil Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Hello, Be very sure you DL'd the proper update file. It is easy to get the wrong one. I'm sure more and better advice is coming :) Your English is great!
cichlidfan Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?. If you bought the BS2 upgrade module then you should have received a serial number/key. If you did not then you need to open a trouble ticket here. http://support.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! fzfq3m Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 ...reinstalled the games I previouslly had: BS and A10, in order to apear active through it. If by these you mean that you installed the old "Standalone" products then you must be aware that they aren't needed since DCS World... you just need to install DCS World and the BS2 or A10 module... How did you buy BS2? if you purchased it through ED's E-Shop then you can login into ED's Homepage at http://www.eagle.ru and retrieve your serials. Look for the login interface in the bottom-left portion of the page and the go to "Payments" BTW the correct procedure is as follows (taken from Wags signature) DCS Product Installation 1- Uninstall all previous DCS products prior to versions 1.2.0 2- To be safe, delete \Saved Games\DCS files 3- Install DCS World 1.2.0 4- Install each new DCS module (1.2.0 or latest Beta version) Regards Compuer Specs Intel Core i7 920 D0 @2.6Ghz Asus P6T7 WS rev2 6GB Corsair Dominator GT CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 2xHP 300GB 10K SAS RAID 1 Corsair AX1200 Nvidia Geforce GTX 580 3GB Water Cooling Specs: Koolance CPU-360 Koolance ASP6T7WS 2xSwiftech MCP655 with EK D5 Dual Top 1xBlack Ice GT S 360 XFlow 1xPhobya Xtreme 400 Tubing:Tygon 2001 1/2" 2xBitfenix Spectre Pro 230mm Swiftech MCres Rev1
EtherealN Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) window apears asking me for the serail number for BS2. The problem is that when I bought the upgrade i dind't receive any serial number and the one i have for the BS seems not to be valid. Correct, BS1 keys are not valid for BS2. With BS2 purchase you will get a new serial number that is valid for this product. When did you purchase BS2? There appears to be a system malfunction ongoing in the last few days with key issues for BS2 and BS1, meaning that if you don't find a BS2 key on your account and you purchased today, yesterday or (possibly) the day before that, you will receive your BS2 key as soon as technicians get the problem isolated and fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience. If you want to get rid of the nagging serial number popup, go into your DCS World folder, enter the "mods" subfolder, then delete the Ka-50 folder. You can then reinstall once the problem is resolved and your serial number issued. Jarc Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Dear all, Thank you for all your replies. I'll read them very carefully. Kind regards, Jarc
Reticuli Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 They're gone, dude. No emails. No links. Nothing on my account. I used to be able to log in and find my BS1 serial. That's gone. I just bought BS2 48hrs ago and still haven't gotten a serial. I opened a ticket and haven't gotten a response. Jarc Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Hi all, Problem solved, I finally got the serial number and when introduced was accepted. According to what I understood I had unecesarily installed the "old" versions, because I thought that the upgrades should find them installed in my computer. What should I do now?, can I uninstall them? or should I have to unistall every thing. I don't like to have programmes using hard disk space unnecesarily. Regards, Jarc
