I am an ASUS fan (I own a G60 and G74) and I also think most Alienware is overpriced. I have heard decent things about Lenovo but that is as far as it goes.

So the aleinware is not advised then compared to the others (alienware has good heat disipation where as the others.... not so much)

If you want an ASUS with good heat disapation then you need to look at the G series IMHO. My G74 has really good airflow. The older G60 was of a more conventional design which really did not do as well when the video chip was working hard.

Aside from the price point, where I feel you are paying (in part) for the Alienware name, I have no real issues with their products. If you have 'haggled' your way to a price that you find acceptable then perhaps it is the best choice.

Ok thanks for your help. It is a tough decision to make xD The Asus G series though is a tad to big for what I need although it is a monstrous machine!

Yes, 17.3 inches makes for a rather large 'laptop'! Luckily, I don't actually take it many places. ;)
