A way to convert DCS BS1 and DCS BS2 Upgrade into DCS World BS

Hi.

I have a little wish/request. I hope it wasn't already made.

I wish for a simplification option of DCS BS licensing. I have DCS BS1 and DCS BS 2 Upgrade. In order to install DCS World BS 1.2.0 module I have to have installed All previous games. This complication will happen again when FC3 will be out but there we have to reinstall Lomac... I hope that DVD is intact :D.

So I'm thinking that maybe ED could just make an option in DCS site in each accout that we may convert previous BS licenses into DCS World BS 1.2.0 so when we reinstall the process should be simpler.

Thank you!

P.S. If the thread title sounds complicated then it is complicated :D

It is a nice idea and good wish. But, I doubt it will come to anything to be honest. Perhaps at some point in the future.

Please note though, to install BS2 into DCS world, you ONLY need to have BS1 installed and activated on your machine. You do not need to have BS2 installed as a standalone.

It could be made by request on forum and the Serials changed and merged into one for FC 2 simple.

I asked EA support once to move all my games from Disc version to Origin and they did it quite easily.

FC1 + FC2 Upgrade = FC2 100%, right? And UBI does not have anything to mess do with it, AFAIK.

And will save over 10GB of space on HDDs.

There is no such thing as an FC2 Upgrade. FC2 does not check for FC1. It checks for LOMAC. It is fine with Vanilla LOMAC, but since FC1 does integrate into LOMAC a LOMAC:FC install is also fine. The same applies to FC3 - a LOMAC install is fine and plenty. It can even be removed after install.

So:

1) Install LOMAC

2) Install FC3 into DCS World

3) Uninstall LOMAC (if desired)

This is required due to contractual obligations to UbiSoft, which is the company that owns Lock On, which FC is a series of "expansions" to.

How did you reach the 10GB number? LOMAC is about a gig.
