I've tried to put up a really simple mission to see what CA was all about.

I know a track would be more self speaking but my bandwith went ethiopian while I was writing another post about - one of many - other problem, took me a good minute to load this page so I wont even try to upload anything.

So this is a basic mission.

A few tanks in a town, me in a M1A2 providing overwatch and 2 F-15E taking off (from runway) a nearby base.

The mission starts at 20:00.

If I try to set the planes start time to 20:00, it appears in red and if switch to another unit then back to the planes the start time is 00:00, in red.

No matter what I try the planes aren't there at mission start.

It's the first time I'm running world, does anything have changed compared to DCS:A10C (standalone) ?

If only ED had provided some solid piece of documentation I could have figured it out by myself but there is NO manual for DCS world.

I had to rely on a fellow forum members to know that the "disable aero interface" was one of my many problem. That's ED job to let us know about the stuff they change in their games.

So I'm here, it's 5 AM, I'm working in a few hours. I cannot sleep cause I'm mad as hell due to the fact that I've spent the whole night trying to figured out wtf was wrong with DCS world.

If the mission start time is 20:00 then the start time for every unit is 20:00 by default. You should not have to set anything for it to work.

Where did you set the mission start time, in the briefing?

Btw, when the time goes red, it indicates that the time set is prior to the mission start time/date.

You're everywhere !

I've set the mission start time in the mission editor.

I forgot to mention I changed the mission start time after placing the planes.

But usually the time for every unit change accordingly. I really don't get it.

Thanks for the help anyway :)

EDIT : Just did some further testing and it's getting weirder.

So no matter what time I put in the plane start time it appears in red. Even if it's 1 hour after the mission start.

Now if I place a warthog (controlled by me) same thing happens but when I launch the mission the warthog is there.

Hmmmm...

I am no ME expert but I have created lots of simple missions and never seen that.

I've restarted the game and it seems it solved the problem.

Still a bit worrying...

Nah, that sounds like typical computer behavior. ;)

It appears if you have a unit with an invalid time set, and then create another unit the time will appear invalid even though it isn't. Changing the time to something valid should fix it. I'm not quite sure what might have occurred in your instance, but restarting the game is always a sure fire bet a user interface issue like that might fix itself.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Have you tried making a simple mission in 1.2.0 Cichlidfan? I too have noticed this behavior when I was trying to create a mission. Is it a possible bug?

I have but not that many so if it is a bug I may have not seen it yet. The comment about normal behavior was more of a general computer joke than a comment on the problem.

I guess we'll see if the problem persists after next weekend. :)

Try running DCS:World as administrator if you aren't already. That solved a similar problem I had with the radio channel settings going red.

I was already running it as an admin sad.gif

I really think it's a bug, I remember few days ago when I bought CA I had the same problem, didn't really paid attention to that since I just had a quick look at the game.

However I'm sure this never happened with DCS:A10C standalone.
