EddieMuntz Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Just a quick one, has the fence in and out commands been omited in the radio to the Flight/2nd Element, and therefore do the other A10s in the group automatically switch on their countermeasures at the Fence in/out steerpoints. Also the broadcast SPI is there any kind of symbology on either hud or mfds that this has taken place correctly?, and is the broadcast the only way you can get another a10 to attack a specific point. As when i have instrucuted my wingman to engage tanks/missles/ default, therefore at my SPI on the verbal readout, without broadcasting he does do a pretty good job at hitting what ive ordered him to hit. Many thanks in advance.
MeerCaT Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Personal experience suggests that 'broadcast SPI' is not necessary for AI wingmen. I don't have a huge amount of experience in multiplayer so I am not sure if it has any effect with human players (i.e. whether human players will see your SPI if 'broadcast' is not activated). Regarding symbology, yes the TAD display does provide user feedback on the status of SPI broadcasting. Somewhere near the top right corner of the TAD there are the words "SPI off" or SPI on", which is also highlighted with a green (on) or black (off) background depending on the status.
ENO Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 We can see spi broadcast from human players when spi is broadcasting. There is also a line that points to which aircraft is broadcasting. Through some of what I've heard during our missions multiple spi broadcasts can be seen from different aircraft- all at once. It reportedly clutters the tad/ so some discipline is required and good cOmmunication is key. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
