ComradeLucifer
ha. yeah, I know I'm being overly cautious checking this out. My Dell U3011 at 2560x1600 is my center. I realize its a bad question in perspective, but I've never really done anything this technical before- kinda a new frontier for me, so I'm a little shy. cichlidfan
I see some people recommending making the mfcds have width and height making a perfect square, such as 560x560 instead of inputting 800x600. Well...considering that the openning in the MFDs is square... The exact numbers depend on your specific monitor. Oh, and fix the ratios in the lua file. You don't have three equal size monitors. Try using actual numbers instead of fractions of things that you don't know the size of. ComradeLucifer
Cichlidfan, do you happen to know the numbers I should use? ComradeLucifer
hmmm trying to make sure all the monitors were correctly spaced in displaylink and i lost my u3011 display, pc crashed. I think they are optimally set up- just like PeterP suggests, just wondering about those dang x y mfcd coords
DayGlow
okay one more question- how do i know/find out the x/y coords i need for the a1o left and right mfcds? It's simple math. Let's the rez of your main monitor is 10x10 ( keep it simple ) each number in your rez is a single pixel. So the top left corner in x,y is 0,0. The bottom right corner is 10 pixels over and 10 pixels down, so 10,10. The middle is 5,5. See? So if you want have a MFCD right under your 10x10 display it would 0,11. Now this bottom display is smaller, 5x5. So the second MFCD would be to the right of the first one. Since they are 5 pixels wide the second one would be 6,11. To get your aspect ratio divide your height by width, so 2560/1600 = 1.6 "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows

ComradeLucifer
windows setup in terms of aero? I'm running a basic them, and the resolution set in the options menu is most definetly 2560x2200. Progress is progress though. ComradeLucifer
okay, After some help from a Charlie, here is what I am currently working with, It is the best so far. Both A10c MFCDs are in the right monitors but they are not square (do not fit the Thrustmaster MFD frames) and they both need to have the images moved up as they are both being cut off. But this is the closest yet. Cichlid or Dayglow or anybody who would like to please have a look and advise if you don't mind.new 2.lua
ComradeLucifer
no cichlid, I had to change it to 4160 by 1600 to work with that updated lua I just uploaded. ComradeLucifer
hmmm this is interesting. All of a sudden the lua didn't work (no a 10 dispaly in minimonitors, just desktop) went to look, 2 was placed on the opposite side of three (i didn't do this) tried to fix it, and lost display to my U3011, had to restart with the power toggle because I had no display- happened once before this evening as well. Continuing to work on this problem!
PeterP
My last attempted to help you - please do following exactly how I have written it to the dot: 1. Measure the visible vertical height of one of your little monitors as exact as you can and tell if you want to have the MFCD's aligned at a) the outer bezels ------- ------- IX I I XI ------- ------- b) at the center of the screens ------- ------- I X I I X I ------- ------- c) at the inner bezels ------- ------- I XI IX I ------- -------2. Make sure all three monitors are on and working in windows! 3. Go to this page: http://www.mechatronics4you.com/wp-content/uploads/tool/test.html 4. scroll a little down and hit the refresh button that is right under this text-line "Copy this to your "config.SoftTHconfig" file:" 5. Than copy'n'paste the code below this button in to your next answer for me. Than please answer me exactly like this in your next reply: I want the MFCD' aligned like this: __ (a,b or c) The Visible height of my small monitors is _____ inches (or use cm). This is the code that is generated by the website I visited: ( paste the code here) Example: [main] renderResolution=2560x1024 nonlocalFormat=RGB32 keepComposition=0 smoothing=1 debugD3D=0 zClear=0 vsync=0 tripleBuffer=0 screenshotFormat=jpg dllPathD3D9=auto dllPathDXGI=auto dllPathD3D11=auto[overrides] forceResolution=0 antialiasing=0 processAffinity=0 FOVForceHorizontal=0 FOVForceVertical=0 [head_primary] sourceRect=0,0,2560,1024 screenMode=2560x1024 Edited September 27, 2012 by PeterP

ComradeLucifer
EDIT Just for the sake of absolute clarity I wrote both sets of instructions out, the two copy and pasted codes are the same. I believe I would like Option A. but for Clarity's sake, I'm trying to get the image in the cougar mfd frame, which is attached to each monitor such that the "blank space" should be on the right side of each monitor. ComradeLucifer
I will try it! I have to reboot, I'm having a problem, every once in a while the 2nd monitor (left mfcd) displays as negative space (-800 for x) and I lost the ability to identify it or use it. I then have to restart my computer. Any idea what's causing this?
ComradeLucifer
oh and cichlid, cheap charlie tried to make a lua for me and it was the closest that I could get- got it all in the frame (almost with 600x600px) so I didn't just "go off" and change, I was just trying options. It would have been cool if you coud have told me yesterday that had I said yes (I could easily revert back to the old profile) I would be finished. I don't know why you tell me this now...i realize this is an easy process for you guys and I look like an idiot. I'm just trying all possible options. Thank you Peter for the .lua, I will try it as soon as I reboot and have all monitors able to identify correctly. Like I said, sometimes 2 goes into negative space and the displaylink identifies both 1 an 2 displays as the U3011 instead of 2 being the left mini-monitor. cichlidfan
I did not tell you yesterday because, until I saw the numbers you got for Peter, I did not know it was true (since you never answered the question). I could surmise it was the case, by the way you described your display, but I could not verify it without input from you. As for your monitors switching, that has nothing to do with the sim that is a Windows issue. Are they connected to a hub or straigh to the PC?
