doveman Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I was wondering if it's possible to export the readouts for the PVI and UV-26 so that I can have them display on my second monitor running Helios? At the moment those readouts are blank and it's a bit awkward operating them on the Helios display and then having to find the readout in the cockpit on the main display to check them. Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
doveman Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) #68 Cool, thanks. EDIT: Actually I'm not sure that's going to work for me as the Helios profile I'm using has the PVI-800 on a hidden tab that is toggled by a button on the main page, so I can't just export the readout to a certain location on the second monitor. The UV-26 should be OK though as that's in the upper-right of the main page. EDIT2: Also meant to mention that the profile I'm using (DDBrico) already shows the EKRAN output using "Set Text - to trigger value when Ekran Message on DCS Black Shark changes" so I presume that's retrieving the text from BS somehow, so maybe it's possible to do the same for the PVI and UV-26? doveman Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 OK, what I'd like to do is have the PVI display permanently on the main Helios page and then I'll toggle the keypad to appear overlaid on the main page when I need it. The UV-26 is already on the main page, so I need to get the exported digits to display in the right place. However, it's not that simple as I'll need to punch a hole in the Helios background for the PVI display and whilst I've been able to use Pixel Window to calculate where the exports should go fairly well, it's not precise enough for me to say exactly where I need the hole and how big it should be. Same for the UV-26 as that currently has a red "off" background that doesn't allow the export to show through. Looking at the helios profile, there's several different backgrounds/no background for what appear to be different operational states of the UV-26 but I've never seen it switch to anything other than the red "off" background. The easiest thing would probably be to delete all these backgrounds and just have my black desktop showing in the display area when the UV-26 is off but I don't even know how to do that! JG14_Smil Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) Hello, Some suggestions for you... Open your Helios profile and select the UV-26 region on your monitor #2. There is a section that will allow you to disable or edit the background. You don't need to delete them. To get your UV-26 export in the general position, do not start Helios. This will allow you to see the export in case it was hidden by the Helios profile. It's not too hard to see where it moves when you make small edits of your monitor lua file. I use a black desktop with my profile to keep things simple. Edited November 1, 2012 by JG14_Smil
doveman Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Hi Thanks for the tips but I've tried unticking the eye symbol, the + symbol and locking all 6 backgrounds associated with the UV-26 but it still shows one in the display area when I load the profile with Control Center. It's pretty hard to get the export in the right place if the Helios profile isn't displayed at the same time, not to mention the right size. Maybe I can use Pixel Window to help me get it in the right location at least. doveman Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 I just found Spike's BS2 Helios profile which he's just updated to v1.1 and it seems much better than the one I was using and has the PVI, UV26 and Ekran readouts exported (after a little tweaking of some DCS files). I haven't tested all the controls out yet but did notice that a few on the Aux panel weren't synced with the cockpit but overall it's damn nice, so I highly recommend it :) http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/252623/ Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
