marcos Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The N in the second NATO is supposed to be in reverse (I think), so why does the diagonal go the wrong way? I must be missing something.
Grimes Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Those letters aren't actually mirrored, its just spelled backwards. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. topol-m Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As Grimes said it's not OTAN because it's reversed, it comes from the way the name of the organization is spelled in Spanish, Italian and French, possibly in other languages too. In Spanish it is "Organización del Tratado Atlántico Norte". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

aaron886 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I live and learn. Actually an awesome question... I had always immediately assumed it was NATO backwards for ease of identification. (But really, if you think about it... if you can see "OTAN" in the mirrors of your tactical jet you're probably about to collide, not identify. :D)
