bullitspunj Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I've been playing A-10C 1.1.1.1 since March and after hearing that DCS World 1.2.1 and A-10C module were stable, I decided to give it a shot, but I am having a weird radio issue. The problem I am having is I am missing my JTAC, Tankers, AWACSes, and Other recipients from my list when using "Create Fast Mission". I'm not using Easy Radio in either 1.1.x or 1.2.x and the client's Options are the same between the two versions (other than the new graphics settings). My radio procedures are the same between 1.1.1.1 and 1.2.1. I use Thrustmaster Warthog stick/throttle and am using the correct MIC aft, fore, down. I guess something changed with the radio because single missions have the recipients contextual. For example in the CSAR missions, F10 (Other) is not available until the Helos are ready to go. This was new behavior I was not expecting, as I am used to having all recipients listed and having to use the right radio, frequency, etc. Ok, so I can live with that, I guess, but in the case of JTAC on Create Fast Mission, when I know they are present in the mission, I can never get that recipient to show in the list. I don't think it is a "time" issue, because I normally do a ramp start, but even with airborne or runway starts, JTAC is not available (in the event the JTAC was detroyed/offline). I've tried changing the settings back and forth between easy radio and without, in case there was a locked config file. Easy Radio works as expected, I think (I have never used easy radio, have flown with full sim settings only since install), with some recipients blacked out and not listed in the menu. Is there something borked with radios in 1.2.1 or did something new get implemented that I missed/overlooked? In a similar vein, is there someway to change the Font type back to what was used in 1.1.1.1 - the new font in 1.2.1 for the radio menu and subtitles sucks for me.
WildBillKelsoe Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 thank God for not patching 1.1.1.1>>>> AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Chippy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I believe it is broken, I too am getting no response from tankers or JTAC. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Jona33 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I wasn't having any problems with tankers or JTACs recently in 1.2.1. Don't know if anything has changed. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
bullitspunj Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 I'm glad it's just not me... I guess. Back to 1.1.1.1.
Dejjvid Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Tankers work just fine. Something wrong with your install or setup probably. Perhaps some of the devs can give some good hints. i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
Th0mas Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Since a few Days, I have the same Problem: JTACS are not listed in the Radio-Menu - not only in "Fast Missions", also in "Multiplayer-" and all other "Singleplayer-Modes". De- and Reinstall DCS World ( 1.2.1. ), or reset all Option-Files, did not eliminate this Problem. I think it came up with an Auto-Update......
ENO Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I lost JTAC as well- but tankers are okay. There was a hint to the problem with the JTACs... because many are put in mission without waypoints they essentially assume an "End of route" behavior and power down. At least, that's what I understood from it. The fix was supposed to be to give them a waypoint but make the "hold" position- and I've tried different variations of that but it didn't work. Certainly worth a try though- I'm by no means great with the mission editor. I'm not sure if the "hold" actually prevents them from engaging with their JTAC power... and if so would prevent them (I'm assuming) from showing up on the radio buttons. I'd be really happy to get some feedback on this temporary fix... perhaps I'm missing a step. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
