Kenta Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Hey good people of this forum! I was wondering, is there's any benefit in buying a 4GB GPU against a 2GB GPU if I plan on playing max resolution 1920x1200. Oh and I mean for DCS: World. If there is ANY at all, I would like to know :) Oh and I was particularly looking at this graphics card: eVGA GTX680 SuperClocked Signature 2 2GB PCIe Failure is the mother of all success.
Milene Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Im using the asus gtx 680 2gb version playing on à 27inch monitor 1920x1200 and my fps is fine Flanker, Flanker 2.0, Flanker 2.5, Lockon, FC1, FC2,FC3, BS1, BS2, A10C, CA and World [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JG14_Smil Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Dobri dahn Kenta, It probably only matters if you plan on using multi monitor in the future. I too have FPS up the wahzoo with my 2 gigger 680's.

Kuky Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 For that resolution (single monitor) 2GB is plenty PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Lallan Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 2GB is fine for a single monitor. If you plan on using small displays to represent MFCDs then you can always run them off a 9800gt or something. As for the card, I would get the Zotac AMP edition of the 680 GTX. One of the systems I made contains that card and it runs ridiculously fast, super quiet and it keeps the card cool under load (67 degrees under full load! And that is with a standard high over clock) "Too Tall" SQ 213 i7 870 / 8GB RAM 1333MHz / 2x500Gb Hard Drives @7200 RPM / Windows 7 64 bit / ATI Sapphire 6870 / Asus P7P55D-E / NZXT Phantom Case/ Corsair H80 liquid and fan cooler.
