WildBillKelsoe Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I purchased the map, a map holder, a marker. It is folded nicely and fits so I can use the holder as an overlay to write on it. How can I find the MGRS coordinates given by JTAC instead of the MFCD TAD flasher? I know its quicker but I aim for realism. The map is 500,000 scale, what do the black ticks around grids measure? what unit? 1 nm/1 km? I also will use a plotter and compass to plot my plan and look at it in flight (sort of new C guy wants the headache of the A guys in Kosovo)... Speaking of FC3, will A-10A feature INS update points? or is it the same thing from FC2 only ported to verld? Cookie Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I could post you a step by step since we use MGRS (or UTMREF, as we call it) in the firefighting business as well, but then again wikipedia explains it much, much better than I ever could: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_grid_reference_system Once you get your head around the concept it´s actually pretty easy to use. - Two miles of road lead nowhere, two miles of runway lead everywhere - Click here for system specs
