AVZ Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Do we need to install the updated modules after DCS World does an auto-update, or does the DCS world update patch any of the modules that need patching? If we DO need to install the new modules, is it safe to just apply the new module version over the previous one since you cannot really uninstall a DCS module without having to uninstall DCS world... which is counter-productive towards the new auto-update feature. After saying the above, I can say that DCS world updated itself from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2, I never installed an updated module of the A-10C and I am still able to fly in that particular sim module without any problems on and offline. I have however noticed that even though it has been stated that the smoke effects (which go missing after a few moments) behind a missile have been fixed - they have not, on my end with the last version of world Maybe we do need to install the module updates separately as well? Thanks in advance! P.S. That missile smoke effect has been broken since about version 1.1.0.7 - almost two years now!
SkateZilla Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 the updater updates any installed files, so if you have the modules installed already it updates those too., Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
