BaD CrC Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Check this link. This would be an awesome evolution of the current DCS BS2. A chopper with a WSO, a radar and a full FLIR capability. Everything we (BS2 pilots) are dreaming of! https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Kenan Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Except you would have to wait 20+ years for it to be declassified for a consumer simulator..or have it now but with like only 20% available info on it.. Kenta Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Yeah, all the goodies would be nice. But... we all know that it just won't happen. Failure is the mother of all success.
lucien Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Is this the one with the foldable and collapsable rotors? *google* Ka-52K, has been selected as the new ship-borne attack type for the Russian Naval Aviation (RNA). It will feature folding rotor blades, folding wings and life-support systems for the crew members, who will fly in immersion suits. The fuselage and systems will be given special anti-corrosion treatment and a new fire-control radar will be capable of operating in "Sea Mode" and of supporting anti-ship missiles. RNA will need no fewer then 40 Ka-52Ks, the first of which is tentatively slated to enter squadron service by late 2014 or early 2015
seikdel Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 6 pylons. I wonder if that's related to the anti-ship missiles it's supposed to carry? Is that the gun mounted on the left side? As a more general question, what role do helicopters play in anti-ship warfare? Are they a great choice for delivering missiles against enemy ships, or would F/A aircraft be better suited to that? I really don't know much about surface warfare.
