Kuky Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I have new issue with DCS World 1.2.2 (currently I am on latest 1.2.2 7204 build) where if I am using windowed mode (which I have to since I am running 3 monitors which are not in Eyefinity mode) the DCS window loses focus when mission is started. I have to click with the mouse on the game window to bring back the focus then play the mission as normal. I never had this before 1.2.2 I have tried single screen in windowed mode also and same thing is happening. Only in Full-screen it doesn't (well naturally since no longer windowed mode) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
71st_Mastiff Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 hey Kuky, make sure your desk top resolution is the same for the game UI, and the game it self. Kuky Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Thanks Mastif, I am pretty sure it already is but will double check again EDIT: checked again and everything is as it should be.. the GUI matches monitor resolution and in game options resolution matches the sum of 3 monitors I'm using. Disable Aero option in game is disabled also, I don't know what else I could look at to possibly being able to cause it Starting MP doesn't have this, only SP and it doesn't happen when I click on desktop icon and game menu shows, but when mission is loading/loaded... then I have to click with mouse to bring back the focus. 71st_Mastiff Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 could be video drivers at this point then..:joystick: "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. Kuky Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 I don't think it's video driver (or not likely) since I've had same Cat 12.10 before and now with DCS World 1.2.2 but before in 1.2.1 I didn't have this. Tonight I installed that Cat 12.11 Beta 7 as well and it's same thing... I am certain it's something with DCS 1.2.2 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

I have to click with the mouse on the game window to bring back the focus then play the mission as normal. I noticed the same thing on my laptop and it has an Nvidia card.. When the mission loads, I can't start it with a mouse by clicking the "Fly" option (pause/break key on the keyboard works) or end it after playing the mission and pressing the escape key, unless I switch to desktop and back via Alt-Tab combination. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Kuky Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 See difference between what you have guys, is I can click with mouse on DCS window and bring back the focus on it... but seems you can't do that and have to alt-tab (which I don't have to do). Are two using full screen or windowed mode? Are two using full screen or windowed mode? Sorry, I missed the part where you stated it's a windowed mode you're using. Mine is full-screen so I can't click on the window like you can as we don't have it, but I guess it's still the same problem - the simulation window (whether full screen or windowed mode) loses focus.. samtheeagle Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm also having all kinds of issues with window focus when using the DCS 1.2.2.7570. For example, every single time I try to fire up a CA mission I get the F10 map view, and a window above it asking me what role I wish to play, only I can't select a role. It wont accept any clicks. I can scroll the map around behind it, but until I ALT-TAB out and go back I cannot start the game. I get the same kind of thing playing regular A-10 missions too, with the clickable GUI not responding to my inputs until I ALT-TAB out. The same goes for the ESC menu sometimes, so I can't quit out of a mission. Sigh, so not the absolute end of the world, but a definite PITA :S I'm running full screen on only one of the two monitors I have connected.
